Christmas

Well the time finally came...Christmas Eve. We had a simple dinner and then went caroling. We love watching the expressions on the faces of those we sing to. We would like to think they are expressions of love and appreciation and not that of someone in dire agony from hearing our untuned voices. However this year Cody also played the clarinet as we sang so hopefully it made us sound a bit better. Then we came home to read the Nativity, and have mom recite the T'was the Night Before Christmas and open one gift which was a book. It was pretty late when we finally got the kiddos into their rooms, mostly because they kept checking Norad to see where Santa was. What a life, all we had as kids were Dad's sharp eye to tell us to hurry when he saw Santa and the reindeer over our house. LOL. Well, as usual Dad and Mom had to stay up to make sure everything was in order and the kids were all asleep so Santa would come. We did hear some noises, but never saw the guy. We left them all asleep in their beds, but at 5am(which came way too early), the kids were up and begging us to come see what Santa brought. The rule has been they have to come get us first so dad can film them coming into the living room, but Eli had decided that he would come out and sleep on the couch(I guess it was just after Santa left), so needless to say they had all been out there before the film crew was ready. By 5:30 we were seeing what Santa had given everyone and our day was started.
